Application of Graph Theory

A Textbook of Graph Theory by R. Balakrishnan, Graph theory has experienced a tremendous growth during the 20th century. One of the main reasons for this phenomenon is the applicability of graph theory in other disciplines such as physics, chemistry, psychology, sociology, application of graph theory and theoretical computer science. This book aims to provide a solid background in the basic topics of graph theory. It covers Dirac's theorem on k-connected graphs, Harary-Nashwilliam's theorem on the hamiltonicity of line graphs, Toida-McKee's characterization of Eulerian graphs, the Tutte matrix of a graph, Fournier's proof of Kuratowski's theorem on planar graphs, the proof of the nonhamiltonicity of the Tutte graph on 46 vertices application of graph theory and a concrete application of triangulated graphs. The book does not presuppose deep knowledge of any branch of mathematics, but requires only the basics of mathematics. It can be used in an advanced undergraduate course or a beginning graduate course in graph theory.

A Friendly Introduction to Graph Theory by Fred Buckley, This book introduces graph theory, a subject with a wide range of applications in real-work situations. This book is designed to be easily accessible to the novice, assuming no more than a good grasp of algebra to understand application of graph theory and relate to the concepts presented. Using many examples, illustrations, application of graph theory and figures, it provides an excellent foundation for the basic knowledge of graphs application of graph theory and their applications. This book includes an introductory chapter that reviews the tools necessary to understand the concepts of graphs, application of graph theory and then goes on to cover such topics as trees application of graph theory and bipartite graphs, distance application of graph theory and connectivity, Eulerian application of graph theory and Hamiltonian graphs, graph coloring, matrices, algorithms, planar graphs, application of graph theory and digraphs application of graph theory and networks. Graph theory has a wide range of applications; this book is useful for those in the fields of anthropology, computer science, chemistry, environmental conservation, fluid dynamics, psychology, sociology, traffic management, telecommunications, application of graph theory and business managers application of graph theory and strategists.

Graph rewriting - In graph theory, graph rewriting is a system of rewriting for graphs. During the application of graph rewriting to a graph, subgraphs are replaced according to the rules of a rewrite system. Feynman graph - A Feynman graph is a graph suitable to be a Feynman diagram in a particular application of quantum field theory. The most common use is when each field has quanta (particles) associated with it - as the quantum of the electromagnetic field is a photon. Evolutionary graph theory - An area lying at the intersection of graph theory, probability theory, and mathematical biology, evolutionary graph theory is an approach to studying how topology affects evolution of a population. That the underlying topology can substantially effect the results of the evolutionary process is seen most clearly in Lieberman, Hauert and Nowak (2005). Hadwiger conjecture (graph theory) - In graph theory, the Hadwiger conjecture (or "Hadwiger's conjecture") states that, if the complete graph on k vertices, K_k, is not a minor of a graph G, then G has a vertex coloring with k-1 colors. Equivalently, if there is no sequence of edge contractions (each identifying the two endpoints of an edge) that brings graph G to the complete graph K_k, then G has a vertex coloring with k-1 colors.
